More: Archie was rescued by a phenomenal organization called Pets with Disabilities in Prince Frederick, Maryland. He had been shot on a rural farm in North Carolina and desperately needed an amputation. Pets with Disabilities cared for him and paid for his treatment. My husband and I saw Archie’s photo on the WetheDogsDC Instagram handle and we did a double take because he looks so much like our other pup, Winnie. We saw that he needed a forever home, ideally in a home with another dog due to his separation anxiety, so we reached out to meet him. He hit it off with all of us and we adopted him shortly thereafter. If Archie is selected, we would love for the prize to go to Pets with Disabilities who takes in so many pups that need extra care.
