More: Ayca was born in Texas and kept in a cage at a shelter for the first 6 months of her life. The Texas shelter was going to euthanize her and her two siblings when a Michigan shelter stepped in and saved them. My family adopted Ayca 1 week after she was brought to Michigan. She was underweight and was not your typical puppy who would be tail wagging and happy. The photo was taken the 2nd week with us at a beach in Canadian Lakes Michigan. She is almost 3 years old now, weighs 90 pounds, loves playing in the lake, riding on the pontoon, and just enjoying life.
