More: Bear is a stunning, 115 lb gentle giant I rescued from BARC animal shelter in Houston at age 2. We are seniors and he is doting, loving and protective. Bear loves being with us, lying his head on our laps and waking us up in the morning by jumping on the side of bed (you haven’t lived until you have awakened with a giant “Bear” with his deep, deep, bass voice telling you to get up. Our nearly blind cat Twister sucks/kneads on his back and he just lies there not moving a muscle. Bear is one-in-a-million.
