More: Beau was a stray that was rescued from a Missouri "kill pen." He was shipped to Jane Peabody at Chesapeake Safe Harbor in Breman, Me. When he arrived he was in terrible shape after being attacked by other dogs. Bloodied and had lost most of his hair because of an unknown thyroid condition, he was nursed back to heath before I adopted him. He was my "Best Buddy" for over 10 years before passing away last summer.
