Bella in Arnold, CA at the lake in Lakemont Pines. Her happy place.

More: Today we gave Bella her wings. When I saw this opportunity, I thought it must be fate - in my profound grief, I want to scream from the mountaintops, let everyone know how special Bella is. I rescued Bella from a shelter after my divorce - and as it turns out, it was she who rescued me. To build endurance for life, I started running. I've estimated we ran over 5500 miles together in her lifetime. She made me an Iron Man. Ultimately, she taught me I could love again, and she loved my new family with open paws. She quite literally is a perfect poster dog and I would love nothing more than to honor her, while encouraging shelter adoption, with the cover on an Orvis catalogue.
