More: My dog is my service dog. In 2003, I underwent a brain tumor surgery and I weighed 320 pounds. I got my first service dog when I was in a wheelchair and I lost over 100 pounds from walking him. He was 12 years old when I had to get him put down because he had a cancerous tumor in his leg. I tried going a while without getting another dog but I couldn’t handle it. I ended up getting Brody and I’ve trained him since he was a puppy. I now walk Brody a lot at malls and I take him to the gym to play ball with him as you can tell in the picture on the basketball court.
