Charlie

Another beautiful CO hike!

More: Charlie was our foster who entered our lives in July of 2020. We knew as soon as we met him that he found his forever home with us! We made the adoption official and he’s made our hearts whole again. His owner died and the family was unable to keep him so he was placed in a shelter where he was going to be euthanized simply because of his age. The rescue group I volunteer with asked if we would foster as he needed to be pulled ASAP. We said YES!! He was flown to CO from TX, and was very overweight, had no hair on his tail and his coat was in suchpoor condition. Before the ink was dry on his adoption papers we immediately got him on the best and healthy weight management food, loaded him up on supplements, fish oil, the works! Slowly but surely his tail feathers grew in full and gorgeous, his coat is now luscious and as beautiful as his smile. We’ve also gradually worked him up to almost 4 miles a day and his weight is so much better. He’s like a whole new young pup!! We lost our prior golden to cancer a few years ago and knew when the time was right the pawfect new pup would find us. We know our golden sent him and have no doubt Charlie feels the same about us. He’s such a gentleman, an old soul and we love him more and more each day. We’re sure happy he doesn’t mind being smothered with lots of love, belly rubs and laughter! 💜
