Dallas

Majestic White Mountain Man

More: On this day Dallas was off leash and ran ahead. He was a very good trail dog. He synced up with another couple and their dog for a little and continued ahead. A great concern came over me, and we began asking around who had seen him. Each group ahead had a story or a passing of Dallas. Approaching the summit we saw a group of people surrounding a dog for a photo opp. I shouted “Dallas !! That’s my dog!” He had made many friends on his hike, and ended up with a large group of hikers who were very fond of him. They gave him treats and hiked the remainder of the mountain with him. I wish I got the photo they were taking with him of their experience. A small heart attack on my end, but was then followed by good company and lunch on the summit. Dallas passed months later, due to complications in surgery. A true heart break, there is no loss like a dog. I later adopted his brother, not the best on hikes but labs will be labs !
