More: Duke spent his first 2 years of life in Houston. Sadly, his owner's home was damaged in the hurricane and Duke was consequently surrendered to a shelter. Upon arrival, he was diagnosed with Heartworms and 'behavioral problems'. Duke was then transported to St. Louis, where he finally found his FUR-EVER HOME!! Commonly referred to as a 'foster fail", my husband and I fostered Duke as he went through his heartworm treatment and officially adopted him not long after. He has since learned a few manners and warmed his way into our hearts, where he is now our whole world! Duke has always had a love for the outdoors and and a wild and free spirit. We took him on his first road trip to Colorado in August, 2021, which is where this photo was taken. He had a blast the entire week :)
