Ellie

Who rescued who?

More: I have had Ellie for 3 1/2 years. She was between 2 & 3 years when I happened upon her. She was in very poor health, had recently given birth to a litter of puppies and presumably dropped off in the middle of nowhere. She had just been rescued from a kill shelter by a nonprofit organization. She was brought to an event by the organization that I happed to go to on a whim. She wouldn’t lift her head, make eye contact or wag her tail upon my greeting her. One glimpse of her connecting eye to eye with me for a second and I was in love. My veterinarian is of the belief that she was used for breeding and “disposed of” due to the location where she was found. Fast forward, Ellie is thriving! She learned how to trust, has confidence that she will never be physically abused again, she is devoted, loving, protective and LOVES TO PLAY! She’s a natural hunter, she will hunt ANYTHING which keeps daily life interesting in the suburbs. I’ve had nothing but Labrador’s and beagles for the past 30 years. After loosing my last lab I chose not to get another dog, the heartache was too immense. Then, several years later along came Ellie💞
