More: Emmett is my best friend and a total people's dog! Now that he's getting up there in age, he is content to snuggle on the couch with you, as long as you pet him (or at least hold one of his big, floppy paws). Being deaf doesn't stop him from enjoying walks in the neighborhood, smelling all the good smells, and searching (begging) for any crumbs you may have dropped in the kitchen! He tolerates his two feline companions, Ari and Gladdie, who get their doglike complexes from Emmett having raised them as kittens.
