More: When we adopted Fermi at 10 weeks old, we thought she was a lab/german shepherd mix and she'd grow up to be 80 lbs. She stopped growing around 30 lbs and we found out her mom was a terrier. She has a big dog's personality, watching over everyone with a shepherd's protectiveness and stubbornly talks back at with the widest range of noises I've ever heard from a dog in my life. We named her after FermiLab. She likes to run in wide circles around us at superfast speeds, so naming her after a particle accelerator turned out to be pretty apt.
