Frankie

Frankie first fall as a free dog

More: Frankie was found by the Clark County dog warden in Ohio. She was one of the lucky ones and was taken in by the County SPCA and places for adoption. Because of her rather "unique" looks and personality she sat for weeks with no one even calling to ask about her. Some dogs adjust quickly to shelter life. Frankie was not one of those dogs. She was anxious and nervous. Making messes in her crate, jumping and pacing. I was terrified she would hurt herself or at the very least end up a lifer at the shelter. So we brought her home and made her ours. This picture was taken the first time I took her to school to pick up my kids. She was an instant favorite among the kids and she loved being in the leaves and wide open spaces. Frankie is the perfect example of the millions of pure hearted pups waiting for us in our community shelters.
