More: Galena is named after the natural mineral form of lead(II) sulfide. It is the most important ore of lead and an important source of silver here in Colorado. Like the mineral, she's heavy, solid, and gray. She's 120 pounds, outweighing me! Galena is a guard breed but hasn't met anyone she doesn't like. She's especially fond of the UPS, FedEx, and other delivery folks, jumping into their trucks to love on them and get biscuits. She backpacks with us, leaving 4" x 4.5" paw prints identical to mountain lion tracks.
