More: Gentry is the great grandson of one of my husband’s best hunting dogs, Drake, that sadly passed a few years ago after a long full life. We missed him so much, so we were beyond excited when our paths crossed with a friend’s Facebook post about 2 last little puppies available a little over a year ago. We inquired about them and after looking over their pedigree papers, low and behold, Drake’s name was a couple generations back. We wasted no time in bringing him home. We named him “Gentry” as the meaning seemed to us (well-born, well-bred). Drake left big shoes to fill and Gentry is up for the challenge.
