More: We found Hazel in a rural area. She was skin and bone, frightened but sweet. We had 3 other big dogs at the time and she just rolled over on her back letting them know she didn't want to be boss, just part of the family. Hazel was 9 or 10 months when we found her and she'd very recently had a litter. I'm guessing her pups were taken away quite early- as soon as they could be sold. Well, happily for all concerned she snapped right back into Mommy Mode when Thelma arrived.
