More: Hoppy's story: My husband was hunting in SC, a typical morning in the woods. He heard something rusteling around and saw 3 deer looking back while walking along. He caught something out of the corner of his eye. At first he wasn't sure what it was. Then he realized it was a hunting dog but something wasn't quite right. The deer were not running and the dog wasn't moving at a normal pace. That's when he realized that the dog was in really, really bad shape. She was lame and emaciated. Her left front leg was hanging, injured and she was pretty much on deaths door. She was STILL trying to to do her job of hunting deer. His natural reaction was to rescue this poor animal. He said it broke his heart to see the dog have so much heart. Her will to keep going was incredible. Hoppy was taken to our home in NC where a fund raiser was created for her leg amputation. The outpouring of support was amazing! Hoppy is now part of our family and is finally living her best life! GO HOPPY GO!
