More: Jakes is the ultimate adventure dog, always ready to go and won’t hesitate to remind if you its been too long since the last big outing. He enjoys trout and salmon fishing, hiking, and backcountry skiing. True to his breed he is an accomplished upland bird dog who has hunted with 4 generations of our family. Smelling quail, pheasant, and chukar fires him up more than anything. He is also an AKC Grand Champion, Canine Good Citizen, and Trick Dog. He’s very friendly to everyone, people and other dogs, and quite affectionate and snuggly toward people and dogs he knows well. Last year he lost his vision but has adapted well and is still an off leash trail dog and successful hunting companion. Jake had a scare a few years ago when a lump biopsy came back as neurosarcoma, thankfully after removal they determined it was benign.
