More: Layla was rescued from the streets of Philly. She had recently lost her puppies and was very thin. The spca is not sure if the puppies even survived. She was originally fostered for a week with us during hurricane Sandy since the shelters were closing. So, for a week we thought. She stole all our hearts and was adopted into her forever home. Just 2 months later we had already planned on getting 2 lab pups. Immediately when we brought them home she took to them as her own. Even to this day she thinks she is their mom. Layla enjoys spending time with her family and even traveling to the beach in the summer. Her favorite person her Poppop who she shares her birthday with recently passed away the day after Christmas. Since then she has been sad but all our family is trying to keep her spirits up. We know he is here with all of us. Hopefully soon she will be back to her heart stealing lovable self. She also enjoys spending time with her mom who at night she must jump on the couch and sleep on her lap until bedtime and also wants a nice warm blanket to keep her warm as well. Layla always has cold paws and like the saying always says cold hands (paws) means a warm heart and Layla truly has that. I think by her being adopted she is appreciative of all she has and all her family giving us all love.
