More: “Lily, The Magnificent” was the runt of a litter and a retirement gift to myself. She was an Orvis girl-Collar, leash, bed. She outhunted most of my friends’ larger dogs with a level of enthusiasm and energy that surprised most people. Once home, she was a constant presence in our kitchen as meals were prepared. Lily was a remarkably quick study, learning a wide range of tricks to the delight of our granchildren and friends. I’ve thought of entering her in the cover contest for many years….Finally did!
