More: Luka is a female German Shepherd Dog that we adopted from a dog foster home. The story: The wife of a soldier who was returning home from serving in Iran, purchased her as a surprise for her veteran husband, but he was not mentally prepared to take care of a dog. She took the dog to a local shelter where she was placed in a foster home pending adoption. We are blessed to have adopted this intelligent, gentle and loving dog. She protects and takes care of our 2 1/2 acre property and mountain home in the southern Appalachian mountains of NC. She also enjoys visits to Noah's Playground to socialize, swim and play ball! She is happy to have a "job" at home and to have a fun place to play!
