More: We picked Max up from the local Humane Society when he was around 3 or 4 months old. I was leery about getting a puppy and dealing with all of the things puppies do (chewing, housebreaking, etc.) but it proved to be the best decision we ever made. He is the smartest dog I have ever had and training was super easy. He loves everyone he meets and begs for attention from the neighbors as if he never gets any at home with us. He enjoys chasing squirrels and the occasional skunk (even though he has to have a bath afterwards) and he can't resist a good belly rub. I really don't know what else to say except that when people say dogs are man's best friend, they are talking about dogs like Max.
