More: We met Meelu on Antigua island. She was a stray with 5 puppies, very skinny. We took her to a local vet to get her microchipped and spayed. After the terrible trip to the vet she got very attached to me and started to follow me everywhere. My wife convinced me to adopt her. With help of a few very kind people including the president of local rescue group Meelu was transported to us by plane few days after we left the island. It took her about a year to adapt to New York lifestyle, open up and show her wonderful personality.
