More: I picked this dog up on a very hot summer day in the Delta in Arkansas. She was walking in a field with no water and no shade. I noticed that she had had a litter of puppies before but her no milk. There were no puppies to be found anywhere in the field. When I got her home, I told my husband to help me get this momma dog out of my car. The name just stuck. She is the reason for my years of volunteering at our local dog pound. I coordinate with rescues to get our dogs out of the pound to a foster based rescue where they will be adopted. I also help transport them. She is my inspiration.
