More: Moose discovered “fishing” when he was young. Whatever body of water we are near—lake, river, ocean, pond, Bass Pro shop tank—you can bet he will be standing, patiently watching fish swim around his feet. He is the first to jump out of the boat only to dedicate all of his time to keeping tabs on all the fish near. Moose is a gentle spirit, and has always seemed like an old soul since he was a puppy; maybe an angler of a past life. My favorite times are sitting on the shoreline at daybreak with him doing just this. If it were up to him, he would spend all day in the water, and especially loves when his dad is casting a line with him and shows him his catches before letting them go. We are so excited as this year we are getting a sprinter van solely to be able to take Moose with us on more adventures and get him to some cold alpine brooks for the first time. (And Moose’s dad is quite excited to take his fly line along for the ride, too 😂) Also a fun Orvis side note, his favorite plush toy is his Orvis bone that he has had since he was a puppy and he uses it to pacify himself to sleep with it during the day and at night. It goes everywhere with us & always has!
