More: I have always had pure breed Labrador Retrievers. After my boy Higgins passed, I decided I would rescue. At the time I noticed that Texas had an over abundance of dogs in shelters due to Hurricane Harvey. I had no idea that I would be getting a part “pit bull” puppy and was a little nervous about how my friends and family would react/respond to him. Parker from the get go was very smart and very loving. I decided I would get him involved in community events and had him trained as a Therapy Dog. I took him to local agility training classes and he loved it. Thus I made my “pitty pup” a respectable member of the community loved by all.
