More: Puppy was given to us by a neighbor because he saw that our 20 year old dog was starting to fail. I wanted to pick out my own dog so we decided to give him to my father-in-law but he was too much for an 86 year old to handle. Needless to say, he was too cute to give back. He is amazing! He fell through the ice almost dying - my husband rescued him wading through the frigid icy water. Puppy tried to return the favor when our daughter-in-law was squealing in the water having fun and Puppy thought she was drowning so he swam to her and wouldn't leave her alone until he got her to the shore with her holding onto his tail.
