Rudy

Cozy by the fire

More: Rudy was my very first dog. He was the last in his litter to find a home, and I purchased him when I was 16 from a good friend and fellow upland guide. I trained Rudy myself and began guiding upland hunts with him by the time he was 6 months old. Not only does he spend each fall and winter beside me as we take clients out for daily adventures, he is also one of my dearest friends and companions. After graduating high school I spent two years as a missionary in Ecuador. During my time there Rudy stayed on my parents farm. While on the farm Rudy tore the ACL in his back left leg. After many prayers and visits to the Vet's it was decided that the best thing to do would let the leg recover on its own. To this day he walks with a limp but it does not at all slow down his drive and spirit. This photo was taken after a long day of hiking and fishing in the Ashley National Forest close to where we now reside.
