More: Sadie is a 3yo yellow lab. She has a genetic disease called EPI which is short for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. What this means is her pancreas does not produce the enzymes needed to digest her food. We have to purchase special enzymes and place them in her food so she can absorb the nutrients. This is a very difficult disease to treat as you need to experiment with what the correct amount of enzymes are needed for her to thrive. At one point during our trials to regulate her she had lost a tremendous amount of weight and was down to 35 lbs. I’m happy to say we have found a diet and correct enzyme formula and she is now 60lbs and living her best Labrador life! Her greatest loves are her “chuck it” ball and her family. She is a special girl and we’re lucky to have her.
