More: Sammy and Kobe are Canine Companions for Independence "future service dogs" in training. I am raising Sammy and a fellow puppy raiser is raising Kobe (named after Kobe Bryant). I am a volunteer puppy raiser and Northwest Board member committing my time, resources and energies to our mission. We provide highly trained service dogs and ongoing support to children, adults and veterans with disabilities at no cost to our clients. We currently have over 1,000 volunteer puppy raisers around the country raising these amazing service puppies. We teach them 30 commands and prepare them to be service dogs with a lot of socialization. We expose them to sights, sounds and experiences like learning to swim!
