More: Sawatch is named after the highest mountain range in Colorado and the US Rocky Mountains. There are 15 peaks over 14,000' high, referred to out here as "fourteeners." Sawatch loves the outdoors and no trail is too much for this guy. He carries his own food and dog supplies and curls up in our tent with us at night. He's gentle and greets other hikers we pass, instinctively sensing which of them need some love.
