More: Shelby has been rescued three times. First, from a kill shelter in Texas; then from a family whose mom got cancer, and had to give her up because of immune compromise considerations; then from a foster who is a Judge who was unable to meet her exercise preferences. We signed up only as fosters too but soon fell in love with her gentle nature and decided to keep her. It took months for us to agree on a name, until we were in a Ford Dealership where we saw a Mustang Shelby on display and voila - it stuck, since she is as fast as a greyhound when chasing a ball AND, according to our electrician who noticed afterwards, also has a racing stripe down the center!
