Trooper supervising his kids in the backyard

More: Trooper was found by a state police officer in a field one cold night in February with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to the local veterinary clinic where he was stabilized and his wounds were treated. Unable to find his owner, and completely smitten with his extremely loving yet rowdy personality, I (the veterinarian), brought him home. Whether he is running miles alongside me through the wooded trails of Northern Michigan, or cuddling with the kids on the couch after a day on the river, he is the perfect addition to our family. His spirit completely resembles the modern Orvis dog - rescued from a bad situation, full of vigor and enthusiasm for whatever comes his way in his second chance at life - he has developed the courage to roam wild but never strays too far from my side.
