More: I have had the worst year of my life this year, bar none. I have struggled with self-harm for a long time, and during this past year, only two things kept me here on this earth: fly fishing, and Sadie. My older brother introduced me to fly fishing last fall and I immediately fell in love with it. Then I met Sadie this past spring, and immediately fell in love with her too. It’s just she and I together, but we spend every minute of every day together. One day of fly fishing and Sadie, combined, is worth more than a thousand therapy sessions.
