More: Meet Blaze, striking his best "coastal explorer" pose on the rocky shore of Mount Desert Island, Maine — coat still damp from his latest adventure. Blaze is a Nederlandse Kooikerhondje, a breed the Dutch bred to team up with hunters, luring ducks into traps with sharp focus and a wagging tail. That same spirit lives on today: he's alert, responsive, and always eager to work alongside his people, whether the task is herding ducks or just herding his family out the door for a hike. Off duty, he's every bit as happy curled up at home — but give him a rocky beach and some salty air, and you'll see exactly who he was born to be.
