Girty Mae

Paralyzed? Maybe. Unstoppable? Absolutely. ❤️ Meet Girty Mae

More: Girty Mae was found dumped in a gutter, unable to use her back legs. But apparently no one told Girty she was supposed to feel sorry for herself. After months of rehabilitation and a second chance at life, she came into our family and immediately took over, our home, our hearts, and approximately seven dog beds. Girty lives with IVDD and paralysis, but she approaches every day with more determination, curiosity, and joy than most dogs with four working legs. She scoots, she plays, she gives kisses on demand, and she’s learning to use wheels as she continues rehabilitation. Her favorite place is wherever her people are, preferably within three feet. Girty’s story isn’t about what she can’t do. It’s about what can happen when a dog gets a second chance, and decides to make the absolute most of it. ❤️
