More: Nettle nursed me through my own recent diagnosis of colon cancer, surgery, and chemotherapy never leaving my side. As soon as I recovered, we were back to long walks on the beach and me practicing my casting, as I am still new to fly fishing. Sadly, shortly after my own recovery, Nettle passed away from cancer in April. I’m submitting to the contest in her honor because she was such a loving and loyal friend and to encourage support in finding cancer cures for both animals and humans.
