More: River was a rescue. Taken off the street at the age of one, pregnant and afraid she found her way into the Cumberland County Animal Services. Approximately a week later, the only non kill shelter in Fayetteville pulled River from CCAS, where shortly after she gave birth to 7 puppies. All of which were adopted before her. Five months later this beautiful girl stole our hearts. The only dog in the whole shelter not barking upon our entrance to the kennels, River gazed up at us with a “hey guys where you been? I’ve been waiting for you” kind of look. Gorgeous, goofy, and essentially a doppelgänger of her daddy(according to her mom), this dog is the perfect companion.
