More: Seven months prior to this photo, Patrick would never have been caught venturing away from us, enjoying himself. He was surrendered at a high-kill shelter in NC and from there, he was taken into a foster agency. We were the lucky fosters who foster-failed aka adopted Patrick. He finally had the life he deserved. While we may never know his history, we are constantly creating an environment he can thrive in to help alleviate his painful past of suspected physical abuse and emotional trauma. He has experienced many firsts with us, and it is extraordinary and very powerful to reflect on how far Patrick has come since we first met back in June of 2020. His story is unfortunately very common however and many dogs do not get to see better days, as Patrick has. He is a shining light in a very dark world.
