More: Betty passed away April 13, 2021, after a tumor was found in her lungs. She was my companion for 11 years, and loved cruising around her native California as well as the swamps of New Orleans where we lived for the past seven years. She was afraid of little except thunderstorms and fireworks, and she was loving but also independent for a 20 Lb dog. We didn’t know she had cancer until we rushed her to the emergency vet, and she died suddenly two days later heading to her first oncologist appointment. She was my best friend, my first dog, and likely the best dog I’ll ever have. Thanks for reading my submission.
