More: We bought Abby as a puppy and learned when we had lab work done to get her fixed that she has a kidney defect. Further testing revealed her kidneys didn’t form correctly in utero. We are doing our very best to give her a happy life. Her kidney values have worsened to the point I have to give her an IV infusion every day. I am a nurse so the vet is OK with me doing it. This dog is like no other dog we have had. She is brave, loving and has taught us to stop and smell the roses. Not sure what qualifies to win the contest but her IV infusion is running is about $600 a month. We would be so grateful if she was chosen. She is so special to us. We don’t know how long she will live. We were told anywhere from 1-8 years. I Also took her to a holistic vet who has her on supplements to support her kidneys. We are hoping for the best for her. She is still a baby. Thank you!
