Bandit

Happy New Year?

More: What would we do without Bandit! He has taught the kids to care and be responsible for a pet. He’s been a nurse when they were sick (letting them lay on him and staying with them). He has been there every day when they came home from school and stayed next to them when they had a year of virtual learning due to the pandemic. Bandit has gone from being a patient soul when my daughter “dressed” him to being in the pictures when my son was dressed for his senior prom. He lets us know when squirrels are on the bird feeder, when the smoke detector battery needs changing and when the UPS man is here. He has a girlfriend (Chloe the Golden Retriever, as he loves the blondes) next door and lots of friends in the neighborhood. There was a little boy walking to school with his parents and he said he was afraid of dogs. After passing by Bandit on several more occasions, the boy finally got up the nerve to pet him. Bandit was very calm - no licking or jumping up - he just sensed the boy’s nervousness. Slowly, they became friends and that boy (maybe a second grader now) loves dogs! Thank you Bandit!
