More: Bear is a Great Pryenees, which is a herding breed from the Pyrenees Mountains in Europe. They are not aggressive dogs (quite sweet, actually), so they were bred to bark to ward off predators while protecting their flocks of sheep or herds of goats. They usually watched over their charges overnight, so they are nocturnal dogs. Hence, I have a nocturnal dog who barks at everything...my neighbors love me!
