More: Benji is a rescue dog from Puerto Rico. We adopted him at 8 weeks old, a wrinkly faced little bundle of joy. We hit a home run with him. He was named for a state policeman named Benjamin who was sadly killed in a freak accident while helping a motorist on a local highway. He was named by a colleague who was fostering Benji so he didn’t have to be in the kennel at night while waiting to be adopted. We stopped by the animal welfare society at the right time.
