More: Bernie Brillo was rescued from a high kill shelter in Macon and transported to Las Vegas via cross- country relay. He successfully was cured of heartworm. Three years later he was diagnosed with canine melanoma on his tongue, thrived through surgery, oral chemo and four rounds of melanoma vaccine. He was loved by his oncologist, many others.
