More: Birch is our third yellow Labrador. Before Birch, we had Ash and Oak. My husband is a woodworker so we have a wood theme. A student of mine, a 6th grader, suggested Birch’s name before we even thought about getting a new pup. He actually made the suggestion upon learning that Ash had passed away. Such a sweet memory. All three labs have had unique personalities. Birch likes his own space but loves us in his own way especially when we are doing something active - walking, hunting or swimming! This year he traveled to Idaho to hunt grouse with his dad and two friends and his two best fur friends, Willie, an English setter and Al, a Vizsla puppy!
