More: My dog Canaan is a huge success story. He was a rescue and was very aggressive. A normal person would have put him down. He was scary and strong as an ox! But I wanted to believe there was a good dog inside. I worked with him for about 1.5 years to finally get him to a good place, especially when it came to his anxiety. I believe in his former life, he was a hunt dog. There were several clues that indicated he hunted that are too many/long to explain here (one hint is that he loves to ride with his head out my sunroof.) I was told he bounced around a lot of rescues before I adopted him. I drove 13 hours, one way, to get him and I really adore this dog and think he's just absolutely beautiful.
