Clover

Down on the Farm

More: Our dear Clover is a rescue from St. Croix from Hurriance Dorian, through the Charlottesville, VA shelter. She came to us a beach/island girl (aka street dog) and has fully adapted to life as a country girl on a 80 acre farm. She has " found" (killed) 15 groundhogs this year. Which is a great thing in this area, all the local farmers love her. I appreciate that many/most of the Orvis dogs might be more "upscale" and not have to deal with the realities of day to day work on a farm and only have to pose for photos but dear Clover is the prime example of a dog who is not privileged, she has learned how to adapt to a completely new environemnt and is working hard every day to make impact in her environmment and "earn her keep". I know Orvis is an upscale brand BUT a dog and story like Clover might help broaden your appeal to dog owners like us, we have the money to afford Orvis but aren't fully on board with the "lifestyle' as Orvis dogs don't seem to earn their keep!
