More: Cyrus was a rescue from a family that kept him on a chain for the first 9 months of his life. He had no manners, no discipline and didn't have much interaction with people. I took him in with my family of other dogs and he proceeded thrive with some of my own basic obedience training as well as formal hunt training. He has a nose like no other dog I've encountered and instincts that have utterly amazed me in retrieving live game as well as bumpers / bird dummies. He is the most loving and well behaved rescue dog I have ever had and by far the smartest.
