More: Finn is a rescue dog, which is fitting since he brought a lot of love and healing to our family after the death of both my mother and mother in law on the same day in 2012. He loves to catch the frisbee, go swimming, hiking and hang out with me in the row boat on the salt pond. Given that he has a a fair dose of Labrador in him, I was surprised that I had to teach him how to swim in much the same the same way as I taught my own children. He will now retrieve objects in the water. He patiently stalks rabbits, moving so slowly that when I take a video it looks like a still picture. His favorite indoor activity is squirrel TV, where he stares out the front door at attention, his body quivering while he watches the squirrels on the porch and in the yard.
